Though India is a democratic country and “Equality” is one of the basic frameworks of the Indian Constitution, Equality is not practiced in some places yet. There are still cases of discriminations all over the country faced by the weaker sections of the society. One of the case came to the light, when a 23 years old boy from Selsella Damalgiri, West Garo Hills District,Bestial Ch. Marak, shared with the VLE, the problems faced by his sister who was a student in Bangalore's college, for being a lone ST student in her class and talked about how she was ill treated and misbehaved by one of her particular teacher and how she always gets discriminated for her looks, who atlast quit the college and came back home without letting the higher authorities of the college know about it. Bestial realized that his cousin should have stood on her fundamental right of equality bestowed upon her by the Constitution of India and should have informed the higher authorities of the college or to the police, instead of quitting the college and wasting one year of her studies. He further said that he is very glad to have known about his rights through the LLP conducted by CSC and will now make all his dear ones know about it and urge them to fight for their own rights .
